review 1: Fast read, read it in a day. Pretty good. The only downside was the giving of information, which was often repeated needlessly through out the book. That would be fine except it was done over and over and was sort of annoying. Apparently there's a sequel but the ending didn't make me want to read it. It felt like the whole story was ended there, like there wouldn't be a need for a sequel. Other than that the book was a nice little faerie story.
review 2: Interesting start - to what I suppose is a series since the ending indicates much more to come. Shade is a typical teenager, given to bouts of crying and self-doubt in her circumstances. There could be more character development for her entourage and the faery people - knowing more about their type other than t... morehe introduction by the oracle, leaves more hunger for information. I would read book 2, just to know if the magic waters worked and about Shade's father. less
