review 1: This was a well written book that kept my attention to the end. It takes a detailed journey through the dark mind of a sadistic killer and that of the woman tasked with trying to stop the killer. It is not for someone looking to read a lighthearted/feel-good mystery or for the faint of heart as the author is liberal with the grisly details. Although I don't normally enjoy books written from the first person POV, I ended up enjoying the format and thought it worked well with the storyline.
review 2: I enjoyed the majority of this book. The main character is very engaging and easy to like. The plot was pretty good - another serial killer but the puzzle was center-stage not the killer. The resolution was crazy. I think the author was working too hard on coming
... more up with a shocking ending and she veered far into unlikely-land. I appreciated her attempt however. Also I figured out two of the surprises early on. It didn't impact my enjoyment of the book. I'll read the next in the series. less

Super scary. Like Criminal Minds on the page. It is definitely worth reading the rest of the series.
