The Larson Legacy
review 1: Ah. That was actually pretty disappointing. To begin with, some inconsistencies. If they only met that one single time, when did they have those “few more conversations” that John alludes to? Also a bit odd how Lewis goes without any sort of explanation from “I can’t be with a guy” to sucking cock as though he’d done it for years. And enjoying it the way only someone who’s really into it would.Sealing the deal with the end, though. The way Lewis kept treating John? Not cool. And it was never resolved. While this is probably realistic in some way, I did not like it. Lewis started out so nice, too. A pity. In the end it things just did not make as much sense as they should have and everything felt rather shoddy. Bah.This book leaves a bad taste with me that does... moren’t correspond to most of the author’s other works (at least the ones since she found her stride).
review 2: Personally I found this book rather disappointing. After reading the first Larson book I expected more but besides the vampires, I can only describe Lewis Larson as lacking any backbone; when he seems to show some character it’s gone at the next minute and he’s full of love, comprehension and forgiveness which make for a very simple-minded character with no complexities nor depth, in short, you never get a sense of “reality” nor empathy with the main character. less
