review 1: So This book is sweet and stuff, the characters were cute and fun although a bit insecure throughout the whole book. Whisky is just lovely and he really helps Patrick see his self worth. This book also has some very funny lines and great moments. However i just didn't really care by the time i got to about 70% and it kinda started feeling like a chore to finish. I've given it 4 stars still because unlike some other books i can't think of why i disengaged from the story, maybe my mood just switched so i felt i shouldn't take a star off for that reason. I have a feeling some of it was lack of sex though (...i know, i know!). So Patrick has pretty much learnt that he has to put out to get people to like him and all of his past relationships have been with douche bags who hav... moree used him for his money and for sex, so his expectations and experiences of sex are pretty terrible. Because of this it takes a while for Patrick to trust that Whisky will be different, which is totally fine, and Whisky is totally great, but when they do eventually have sex (which is like 60% through) we get one sex scene and thats kinda it. a bit sad for all that build up.Anyway i would still recommend it to read because it was an enjoyable easy read, just be prepared for low sex content.
review 2: I just loved this! My heart broke for Patrick, and I just wanted to give him a million hugs. Whiskey was just great. Personal pet peeve though is when one MC tries to fight the other MC's familial battles for them. I hate it and it just stunts personal growth, plus I always think it's controlling/infantilizing and overstepping. Be there to support not to dictate. But that's minor, and I think it's resolved enough to not be bothered all that much in the end. I thought the drama with the ex was a bit over the top, but whatever. Loved the poor frogs. And Fly-Bait was awesome. less
