review 1: I was interested in the premise, but this didn't draw me in.after a few chapters. Two stories in parallel, one of way back Eskimos in the Bering Sea are of Russia and of a young woman in Wisconsin who takes in abused sled dog. The book so supposed to lead to her getting into racing but I didn't get that far. Writing is not refined, and the characters weren't becoming like able. The historical part was confusing. There are too many books to struggle thus one that seems muddled.

Enjoyed this book so much! I laughed and cried, but overall it was a very satisfying read.
