review 1: 3.5 StarsI felt so bad for Simon when his dad found out he was gay, but I thought he handled it splendidly. Parents are supposed to love their children and support them. Religion can be so divisive, though. I am glad that, after his parents calmed down a bit that they were more accepting, even if they didn't agree. I remember having a conversation with my mother when I was 19 or so when she mentioned that one of her sister's kids was gay and what a shame it was that said kid (who was an adult) was choosing that lifestyle. I asked my mom when she "chose" to be heterosexual. Who chooses to be ostracized? But I digress...As usual, I enjoyed Andrew Grey's story telling and the way he brought the characters together. I'll be reading the next one here in the next week or... more so and I look forward to it!
review 2: Well, at least this book had bullriding in it, much more than the first one. Again, nice characters that are very likeable, and we get to see quite a bit of Dante and Ryan from A Wild Ride.I'm not quite sure why Jacky was so sure that Simon's parents would come around. However, it was a change to see some parents who were not totally unforgiving nor universally accepting of a gay son. They were nearer the unforgiving end of the spectrum, but at least they were moving in the direction of loving their son no matter what. less
