review 1: This was a good conclusion to the homelanders series, but I found that the ending came a little too quick. ~SPOILER ALERT!!!!!~ I loved the series and much of the book was nerve-wrecking, but when the bad guys were about to release the gas, there was no final showdown or anything like that. It was just Charlie climbing up a ladder and Prince falling off. So while it was a happy ending, I wish there could have a little more peril, maybe they release the gas and they have to evacuate, or something like that. Either way, this was a very enjoying read.
review 2: This book is a must read! I loved the story of Charlie, the book felt so real that at one point I almost told my uncle that I had a friend who was very interested in joining the air force but stopped myself... more when I realized that my friend was a book character. I love Charlies determination, bravery and dedication to country. His love for country sparked my own love for country. But I also liked how Charlie had weaknesses and bad things did happen to him. The series made me laugh, cry, worry, and at times I was scared and then felt relief. Andrew Klavan is extremely talented and his passions show through beautifully in his writing. less
