review 1: (Source: Downloaded for free from amazon.co.uk.)This is the second book in the ‘Wraith’ series, and kicks off the summer after the end of book 1 ‘Wraith’. **Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for book 1 ‘Wraith’**Jane has recovered from the events of the first book, and is now seeing Connor, but isn’t really seeing ghosts the way she used to see Evan.This all changes though when a girl that Connor spent time with in hospital (Charlotte) commits suicide. Connor can’t see her, but Jane can, and things get weird between them.Jane doesn’t know what this girl meant to Connor, or what their relationship was like, but she does know that the girl – Charlotte, is angry about something, and that she’s doing something to Connor. Connor is behaving strangely, ... moreand getting himself into trouble, and Jane and Connor’s relationship is going downhill fast.Can Jane help Connor? What does Charlotte want? And why does it seem that ghosts can now physically touch Jane?I enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced story, and I liked the mystery element.Jane is once again a sweet girl. She’s learned to live with what she is, and now that she knows she can help these ghosts, she tries to do what she can. Charlotte is something new for Jane though, a ghost with malevolent ideas, who is not only purposely trying to hurt Connor, but also trying to harm Jane.Connor is a little more messed up in this instalment. He seems to be coping less well with the ghosts, and also seems to be having issues with his medication, and even knowing the difference between right and wrong. Connor really needs help, but it’s so difficult to know what anyone could do to help him, and although Jane tries her best, it’s obvious that there’s no obvious solution for Connor.There’s a lot less romance in this book compared to the first, mainly because this time Jane and Connor’s relationship is in trouble, but this was necessary to the storyline, and wasn’t an issue for me. It was interesting to see the troubles that Jane and Connor were having, and how easy it was for Charlotte to drive a wedge between them. I’m hoping that some of these issues will be resolved in the third and final book.I liked the storyline in this book, and I was surprised at a few points. I did make some guesses as to what would happen, but they were only partly right. There were a few little twists that I really appreciated, and I’m glad that we got a proper ending to the story. That being said I am interested to see what happens in the next instalment!Overall; a great sequel! If you liked Wraith, you’ll like this.7.5 out of 10.
review 2: After finishing Wraith (book 1) I immediately opened up Shadow Bound because I honestly couldnt get enough of Connor and Jane. This book is just as good, if not better than the second, picking up pretty much where the first book left off you are thrown right in the middle of yet another ghost dilemna. Connor and Jane's relationship is really put to the test in this book, causing all sorts of emotions to run through my mind. I was constantly flipping through each page just waiting for that next moment to find out what could possibly happen next!!! The ghosts in this book aren't as sweet and nice as Evan was and this forces Jane and Connor to really work hard to find out what it is that they are supposed to do to help this lost soul ( or souls ) to move on. All the pressure and danger really puts a strain on if Jane and Connor are really read to take all of this on themselves. And if their relationship can last... I felt sooo torn in this book, just wanting things towork themselves out, and those pesky ghosts to get lost! But alas it is just not that easy. I am left at the end just CRAVING for more the story, and to find out what is going to happen. PLEASE HURRY AND WRITE BOOK THREE!!!!! I am impatiently waiting. less
