review 1: For some crazy reason, I like reading real life crime stories... but at the same time I find them horrific. It's hard to believe how totally depraved and evil these criminals are. I also like 48 Hours Mystery.I will say that I didn't particularly appreciate the unsolved crime stories (I think there were two) that were part of this book. I want the mystery solved and the criminal to pay!
review 2: Ann Rule lives and writes in Washington state, where the vast majority of the crimes she describes have taken place. Her gruesome body of work chronicles the most savage crimes that have occurred in that part of the country over more than four decades. Nevertheless, each of her "Crime Files" series leaves me wondering just how common murder may be. How many other mo... morensters reside in other states, and how many bodies still lie in the deep forests of the Cascade Mountains and Pacific coastline.It's enough to make anyone distrustful of strangers—which is very much what Ms. Rule has always said she hopes to accomplish. less
