review 1: The Mystery of Boscombe is not actually a mystery but rather a case that is very much clear for the people of Boscombe but just till Sherlock gets involves. The story certainly has a fantastic grasp that gives one the feeling of the type of chores that one expects from a crime fiction. Chores that were not clichés but rather the type of unique facts that adds up a thrill to one conscious. Murder cases are unusually stimulating no matter how many time one encounters it but the way (author) has propound with his fictional (But more like a real character) Sherlock it makes it even more enjoyable. The only thing but this story is that it is very predictable! Throughout I felt like I knew that actual murder and in the end I realized I was right. That is one shortcoming that I ha... mored felt and a very huge flaw of the story because mystery which is was claimed to be is not actually a mystery if one get easily gets that whole image of the end before Sherlock does. However, in spite that I had predicted the end does not means that I also knew the inside story of the cause of murder. Which is why it still does not becomes so absurd.Over and above I rate it five because even with all my love for crime fiction I might has just out witted the author this time but for those who are gradually beginning to love Sherlock you will certainly love it. -Over and Out Rao Umar
review 2: This is surely one of my favorite adventures in the book! The classic "who-done-it" formula works great during the narrative while the rustic change of scenery added a nice fresh element to the story. It was great witnessing the comical antics of Lestrade once again (hopefully we will see him again)!Once again, the backstory of the crime really adds depth and the inclusion of memorable characters really makes the Boscombe Valley Mystery a great short read. less
