review 1: "Ask the Passengers" is a unique story that I have never encountered before. Not only does it tell the story of a teenage girl in a small town and all of the possible problems that can arise from that, but it also dives into the thoughts and life of a teenage girl questioning her sexuality. Not only is she questioning it, but she also comments on society's pressure to fit into a box, as she says. Astrid is a dynamic character who can not only show adolescents and adults that it is okay to not fit into these boxes, but also how to handle things like peer pressure from friends, peers, and romantic partners. She is quite a role model when it comes to this and the writing to make her come alive and tie in so many elements is excellent.
review 2: I love the premise
... moreof this book: a teenage girl feels like she can't give any of her love to the people around her for various reasons, so she beams it up to the passengers on planes flying over. She also asks them the questions she has no answers for. It's really interesting to see how this impacts the passengers, and how it ends up coming back to her. Great coming of age story--lots of empathy, lots of growth. I'll be seeking out more by this author. less

This book was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend it. Teenage angst with a touch of philosophy.

I want to re-read this. Lots of good stuff and I love a confused heroine.
