review 1: The theme in this book is rebellion. When Binky's family has a house guest come and visit them, it isn't a human its a cat named Gracie which Binky quickly gets jealous of because she's getting all the attention. Binky becomes rebellion when he figures out that Gracie might be hiding something and he may need to investigate. Binky ends up figuring out that she is just like him in many ways and they become rebellion together. Spires is saying that you need to give everyone a chance even if you don't like them at first you may become best friends later. A symbol in this book could be the agency they work for and how its bringing them together and closer friends. This is a fun book to read if you want a quick graphic novel with a funny story line.
review 2: I real
... morely enjoyed this book. It was cute and funny. Some of my favorite words were "fuzzbutt" and "space gas." The book was really fun and made me laugh. I think children will enjoy it because it relates to space, pets and has a comic book style. The illustrations demonstrated what was going on, but it also had its own commentary. I was most drawn in when Binky starts to train so he can remain a space cat. One of my favorite lines was "If this is what girls are like, he's glad he's fixed." This can be seen as inappropriate, but I feel the author added it for humor and for any adults that may read it. Many children's movies include adult humor to keep adults entertained. The author may have been doing the same. less
