review 1: I was into this book right from the start. I like that Wales is featured in the story, as I love Wales! This is true to form for Barbara Erskine - fantastic story, that keeps you reading just that little bit more, even when you know its well past your bedtime!I don't like to give too much away in reviews, so will just say, you will not be disappointed if these are the type of books you like to read!
review 2: An intriguing plot with two characters from the past taking over the minds of two from the present. The daughter of Caratacus (Caradoc) taken to Rome with her father as prisoner is menaced by the 'out of control' legionary who raped her as a child in Wales. Jess, a London teacher, is raped after an end of term disco and flees to her sister's retreat in Wale
... mores. Jess is then stalked by her attacker. The initial 'Mills and Boon' type romance gives way to outright melodrama with dark adepts, both Celtic and Roman from both time periods sparring across the ether. The underlying hysteria quite spoiled it for me. This is an author whose previous books have given me much pleasure. less
