review 1: Once again Barbara Annino has done it!!! I love her fast paced stories, and the "trouble" that Stacy gets into, whether it be an hilarious backfired spell, or the drama that just seems to find her and her family. In this little gem, she goes to a castle to free her mom and retrieve a caldron that has been stolen. What she finds however, is a malevolent ghost that tries to kill her and a TON of surprises along the way. I have to say that I wasn't expecting the surprising twist of the "who done it"! Again this book had me laughing and rooting for Stacy every step of the way!!!
review 2: I received this book through Goodread's First Reads. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. The reading level was probably about pre-teen level, about my level for enjoyable ... morereading. I don't like super complicated books for fun reading. The only thing that I didn't like, and why I rated it as I did, was due to about six paragraphs in chapter 17. Unneeded for this level of reading. Otherwise, the rest of the book should be written similarly so that the story is more appropriate for an older age group. Without that section, the book was the type and storyline that I would have encouraged a young reader to read. Particularly since there is a red-headed girl with that comes from a family with the last name of Geraghty like the sisters in the book. Overall, I enjoyed it and it is a quick read, kept me interested. While it would be nice to read these books in sequence (this one must give info that was not quite answered in the previous books), I don't think that takes away from the story. less
