review 1: McMaster continues her wonderfully imagined and consistently inventive London Steampunk series with the friends-to-lovers story of newly minted leader of the Nighthawks, Garret Reed, and his former partner and current best friend turned surprise love interest (for Garret, not for anyone who has ever read a romance series) Perry, who he just realized is, in fact, a woman under her Nighthawk's uniform. Murderers, monsters, and the craving virus run rampant as Garret and Perry investigate a double murder that hits a little too close to home for Perry, while trying to navigate the sticky situation that is falling in love with your best friend, only complicated by the secrets they are both keeping from each other, for their own good of course.
review 2: I loved this... more story it is so intense strong and very sensual as two Nighthawks that we have gotten to know in the other books in this series finally get their HEA. Perry and Garrett have been partners in The Nighhawks for years and have a strong friendship they cover each others backs and Garrett is very open with Perry but Perry keeps her secrets very close to her and for a very good reason but when Garrett sees Perry dressed in the beautiful red dress instead of the leathers she is normally in and The Duke of Moncrieff arrives back in London after his exile 10 years ealier Perry is scared and things start to move both realize how much love means to each other and keeping each other safe is the be all and end all. This is a powerful wonderful story that will have you on the edge of your seat I loved it and this series I highly recommend them. Thank you MS McMaster for hours of reading pleasure that keep me up late at night and riveted to the story and cherring the hero and heroine on. less
