The Blood Vivicanti
review 1: (Book was gifted by author for review)Book 3 finds us delving deeper into the story of this new breed of blood drinkers, the secrets are growing all the more intriguing. For me the biggest theme of this book in the series seems to centre around greed. Mary in particular seems to be changing the most. With Theo's blood memories still with her because of her photographic memory, she is becoming more interested in trying to come out of herself and do things like Theo, or is it for Theo? His blood memories have made her stronger in some ways, but weaker in others. She follows him around like a puppy and will do anything he says, then broods when he wants to do his own thing. I love Mary's character so much because she is so flawed, there are so many people in this world that hi... morede away because they can not deal with the world around them. Mary's greatest flaw is her inability to believe in herself because of the way she was treated by her parents and her peers. These flaws are what makes her follow a man she has seen around the town. Following him home to his family, she spies on them and learns that he has a loving family that love him back. The one thing Mary has never had is now her obsession, and it will cost her and the family that she has claimed as her own. Even with a warning from Miss Crystobal (the mysterious housekeeper) she carries on with her obsession. Things are spinning out of control for Mary, she wants what she can not have and that could ultimately bring disaster to all of them.Another exciting and book in a series that is pulling me into it's magic.
review 2: This series just keeps getting better! I wish the parts weren't so short. I understand leaving the reader wanting more and the suspense of it all but finishing within an hour at a pivotal point is soul-crushing. The main character has gained depth and one of the characters you thought was simply there as filler has suddenly become more of an important support to the story. But there's still too many things left unsaid to really say or explain anything. The writing style is a lot more familiar at this point so yes, you do get used to it. The fact that there are more mystical creatures in this world than Vivicanti is a relief, but the lack of knowledge of what they are or what they are capable of is unnerving. But with the way things appear to be going, we'll find out piece by piece. If you're already in the thick of the story, I would suggest to keep going. If you haven't started, I would honestly wait until it was complete, or until more parts are released together or can be read back to back like a decent novel. less

This series is so fast paced, that I get so lost in the story and don't want it to end.
