review 1: The third and final "Zita" book relies heavily on the first two; a reader would not know what is happening if this was the first book he or she picked up. Zita is locked up and must escape to save her friends and return to Earth, in a story that is told as much in the illustrations as it is in the text. In fact, this third book has less text than the previous two, with several pages that are all artwork. Most pages have some dialogue, but in this book there are several "wordless" sections that convey the plot. The full color artwork is quite effective, with distinctive characters (I love the big guy Stanley who is not as dumb as he seems), but be warned that there are some slightly gruesome images that would scare younger kids (I would recommend this series to ages 9 and ... moreup to fully appreciate it). Zita's story would make a great film!
review 2: A cute conclusion to the trilogy--and I wouldn't mind more books! I still love that she is a girl who cares about others and wants to do the right thing. Great moral and behavioral lessons housed within a child's space adventures. Liked how it all came together. But I think, honestly, what I loved the best was the end of the book where I got to read how Zita the Spacegirl came about. Such an adorable "How we Met" story! Would be a shame to let Zita's adventures end there. So many possibilities available when many worlds and alien races are there for the imagining and creating of stories. less
