review 1: These graphic novels were a huge disappointment considering how much I loved the film. The film, admittedly, set the bar pretty high, but the graphic novels fall so short of expectations. A lot of people complain about how bleak and depressing they are; I had no issues with that, I just didn't think they were very compelling outside of the basic premise behind them. The film did a ton with that premise, maybe my favorite film of the year, but the graphic novels managed to make it somewhat boring and tedious at times.

Not great and not anything that I would ever consider turning into a movie.I say skip these until after you've seen the movies. There are not truly any spoilers for the movie per se, but I feel the movie is worth your time, these, meh. less
