review 1: GR First ReadsThe Undelightened has a good plot, but in my opinion, it gets buried under lengthy metaphors and a slow pace. I would find myself being pulled out of the story by the prose used and then not being able to get back in to it. When I did manage to stay absorbed in the story, I got bored. There didn't seem to be much happening other than the same arguments or confusions for the first 300 pages. The last 1/4 of the book did pick up the pace, but by then I really wasn't interested to see how everything turned out. There wasn't enough connection in story to make me want to see what happened to the characters. I am sure there are several people out there that will fall in love with these characters and the story line but unfortunately it missed the mark wit... moreh me.
review 2: I got this book from GoodRead giveaways, from the author. This book was pretty good, I loved the light vs dark I haven't read one of them and now I plan on reading more! The story was a good mix of action and some romance. The only thing that I didn't like (hence why I gave it 4 stars) is because the book for me was a little bit slow in the beginning, I would've liked it to go a little bit faster in pace, but all in all the author wrote a great piece I'll be looking out for book number two! less
