review 1: I loved the parts of this book that deal with the dogs, their personalities, dog training, and matching them with their perfect people. The relationship between mother and daughter was spiky and real. But the romance was boring and didn't ring true - I couldn't see any reason she loved the guy to begin with, and then he acted like a jerk. Too much of the book was taken up with that, not enough dogs! But still, an enjoyable, light read, well written.
review 2: This had the potential to be a really great book and story. I liked the idea of it...but the execution failed in a lot of spots for me. Lara was very immature and irrational. I had a hard time connecting with her. She supposedly had a job that she worked 40 hours a week -- but as soon as she started wo
... morerking these other random "dog jobs" we basically never hear about her job again. She's never competed in the types of dog shows that she ends up showing Eskie in and yet, of course, she wins. Those along with other things, just bugged me. This is my least favorite book of Beth Kendrick's that I've read so far. less
