review 1: I'm a fan of chic-lit and don't mind predictability if the ride is enough fun. This one was quite well done (at least as much as I read of it), but I ultimately had to pull it out of my mp3 player (I had the audio edition). My problem was unlikeable characters - so unlikeable they spoiled the whole book. Emily was fine, but best friend Summer was flaky, irresponsible and a "free spirit." Free-spirit is just a euphemism for supremely-selfish-care-about-no-one-but-yourself. The idea that she was there to "rescue" Emily from her staid, responsible plans was a bit too much to stomach. Summer is bested only by Emily's mother Georgia, who was not only a serial gold-digger but a pathological extrovert skilled in the art of making herself the center of attention in every setting. ... moreAnd she too, was poised to pull Emily towards "the light." Basically, I couldn't allow these characters in my car anymore and had to yank the story out of my player.
review 2: Usta işi bir çeviri karşımıza çıkmış bir kitap demek isterdim :( Kitabın ilk sayfasında çevirmenin yaptığı "İmamın abdest suyu " ve sonuna doğru iyice coşarak " yiğidi öldür hakkını ver" ve " Güzin Abla " benzetmeleri ile coştuğu bit eser olmuş...Konuya gelirsek Ryan ve Emily üniversite zamanında tanışmış ve kısa sürede aşık olup evlenmiş , aynı hızla da boşanmış bir çiftimiz...Yıllar sonra ikilimizin yolu bu sefer Emily ile Grant in evlilik törenlerinin yapılacağı otelde kesişmesi ile başlıyor . Aslında sıkmayan yer yer hareketli ilerleyen bir kitap olsa da ben kendimi veremedim..İmamı yeni unutmuşken Yiğidin ölmesi ve Güzin Abla nın buna çare arama benzetmesi bu sürece katkıda bulundu..Bunları saymazsak yazar eğlenceli bir yazım tarzına sahip ... less
