review 1: Most of the characters from the first book are back in the sequel, with a few new characters as well. For the most part, I enjoyed this one for what it is -- a nice, light, non-challenging read unencumbered by grittiness or violence (which can be appealing if you've been reading a lot of, say, Tana French). This one gets two stars instead of three, though, because one of the storylines is a Pride and Prejudice pastiche-type story, which I am seriously sick of.
review 2: I really liked this book. It's the second in a series, but you can read it without necessarily reading the first. The group reads great romance literature in this particular book and year, and make a knitting project to go with each book. I realized early on that one of the story lines in t... morehe book had some parallels with Pride and Prejudice, which was one of their assigned books. It took me til much closer to the end to realize more of the story lines paralleled one of their reading choices in at least some small way. less
