review 1: This is the second book in a series. You can read it as a stand alone book because the author spends a lot of time summarizing the first book. Since I had read the first book I found that very boring. There are lots of characters in this book and I find that distracting. The author is dealing with too many characters and storylines so she doesn't have the opportunity develop any of them very well. The book also ends in a way that doesn't wrap up the story but sets us up for the next book. I will not be reading the follow up book. I only read this one because it was the April choice for my bookclub.
review 2: This was the second in a series about a very wealthy woman and the good she brings to a small town. A very fun, fast read that makes you long for a... more world that is this simple but knowing that a world like this is very much a fairy tale.I enjoyed the first in the series so much (Blessings) that I actually bought this one and read it in one sitting. The characters are great, very human but good people. The women in this town are strong and know what they want, it is nice to read a story that allows the women/female charaters to be equally in charge. less
