review 1: I cleanly enjoy this series. The residents of Henry Adams, Kansas are certainly individualists and likable - except for old Riley Curry and his pet hog Cletus. In this fourth book of the series I'm happy to see Preston get the love and support he deserves from his adoptive parents and grow into a sturdy young man with intelligence, compassion and daring. The backlash on Bernadine reminds us money can't buy everything and life is not idyllic. Yet at the end of the story you smile and happily anticipate the next installment.
review 2: I loved this book. In the fourth book, Jenkins really does a great job that even with good philanthropic efforts there are consequences. She deftly tackles issues on birth parents who want no contact, foster children who long for
... moreold life, and permanency and love when adoptions are wanted. I also loved that she left the door open on a teenager who feels her life is now” too good” and misses the messiness of her former despondent life before all the blessings were bestowed upon her. I am anxious to see how it gets resolved moving forward. Great read! less
