review 1: The uncanny comic origins of the defenders known as The Guardians of the Galaxy - NOT as you may know them from the recent Disney/Marvel movie of the same name. Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, meets with Star-Lord and finds himself (along with the rest of them) in deep, intergalactic trouble. King J-son of Spartax, once an idealistic young man, finds himself opposing his son while trying to bring together the universe's greatest powers - each an ambassador from the various galactic empires that dot the Milky Way galaxy. When the All-Mother sees through J-son's plan, the various dignitaries sense impending war. Also included are mini stories featuring the various members of the Guardians as Star-Lord attempts to bring the team together one more time for a little action and a p... moreeace-keeping mission.
review 2: T really like the Guardians of the Galaxy in previous incarnations. I really enjoyed the comics collected in this compilation. The Guardians might be one of the best Marvel teams out there. The current crop of Avengers and X-Men books are lacking what the Guardians have. The stories collected here are action packed and fun, there is some plotting by the bad guys but that does not take up much time.Good Stuff! less
