review 1: Estava mesmo com vontade de ler este livro. Ainda bem que o final não é como alguns anteriores, que nos deixam a desesperar pelo próximo livro. Como é habitual, gostei muito deste livro. Li-o tão bem, foi num instante. Achei que a história em si, o mistério sobre o assassínio de Mats, não teve aquela carga tão grande de suspense como a maioria dos livros anteriores, mas foi muito bom. Sinceramente, não consegui formular nenhuma hipótese do que se passava, mas acertei na que foi a maior surpresa, penso.O livro começa com a cena de um funeral e Erica e Patrick destroçados, mas sem sabermos quem morreu e as cenas mudavam e pronto, foi um bocado desesperante até saber quem era o falecido, mas depois de saber foi tão triste. O tema da violência doméstica mexe... moreu comigo, apesar de nós leitores não vermos as coisas acontecerem, com exceção de uma cena mais perto do fim. E depois há o Mellberg, pois claro. Este homem é mesmo frustrante. Tanto lhe dá para ser uma joia com Rita e a restante família, como tomar atitudes que não são nada razoáveis e com repercussões tão duras. A história do passado é, outra vez, meio maluca. Karl e Julian era cá umas bestas. E os espíritos que havia na ilha... Enfim...
review 2: I'm currently reading this book, and have a really hard time finishing it. It's a first for a book by this author, which i usually enjoy.The most touching and disturbing thing, with this book, is the grief the parents of the victim have to go through. Ultimately, this family is totally destroyed, and i'm not sure why. Why the author make them go through so much ?!! I rarelly relate to a character, specially from a detective novel, like i did with the mother of the victim. It was painful, physically painful to read this and to feel what she felt. I think THIS is how you write about parental grief, motherhood fears and demons...Ms Lackberg got me with the mother's character, too bad she was just secondary. less
