review 1: I have not read anything by this author before. It is a murder mystery, but with a twist. The thing linking all of the victims is where they went to preschool. I was impressed how they put this together. But from a social conscience point of view this was a powerful piece of work. Just how long lasting is bullying? and how widespread? It was not so much the murder mystery as the bullying and lifetime implications that fascinated me. Excellent, an easy and thought provoking read.
review 2: The premise of this book had so much promise... which it didn't entirely deliver on. It's well written, but it seems to follow the same writing style of many of the other Swedish mystery writers, set in a police station with a variety of characters each with their own persona
... morel lives filled with angst, chasing murderers in small town Sweden. Perhaps some of this sameness is due to the editors/translators, I don't know. The story does have some interesting twists which I won't reveal, but at the end it does make you question do you really process what you're reading or do you just see the words? less

Starts a little jumbled but sorts itself out and becomes a pretty good mystery.
