review 1: From the very beginning I was not impressed. Maybe I'm jaded...The message about bullying is very important and people need to put a stop to this behavior. Hate is taught and the murderer is full of hate and rage. Understandable. But I didn't like this book...not the language, plot, nothing. I can usually find something that will redeem a story but not this one. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for a poor pitiful me type of murder mystery at this time. I won't give up on the author...I will try another and hope it is better. Why give 2 stars? Because it really could have been worse.
review 2: If it wasn't for the pretty spectacular twist right at the end of this book it may even have been a 1 star. Too confused, jumping incoherently from character to char
... moreacter - and a totally pointless 'date rape' subplot with utterly bizarre and inappropriate political spiel about Hezbollah. It felt like the author was just trying to crudely ram their views into the storyline. This book could've been at least a third shorter - without all the extra guff and tedious attempts to draw the reader into the (dull) private lives of the police involved. All that said, the ending was completely unexpected and brilliant - perhaps because I'd given up all hope by then! I won't be reading any more of this series. less

A nice crime-novell with a bit of a twist-ending. Easy/fast to read and entertaining!
