A Lucas & Alex Adventure
review 1: Not a romance, in the traditional sense, the narrator and his boyfriend are an established couple from the start. Both members of the nobility, one rich and one poorer, they're Nick and Nora in a steampunk world without the steam. A world where magic exists, same sex couples are casually accepted by all as first class members of society, and portals between their world and a dimension of powerful magic users existed, but have been closed for last 150 years. The story is surprising, fast paced yet the true delight is the relationship between the main character and his boyfriend, and the rest of their family and friends. I can't wait for further adventures of these two guys.
review 2: I haven't enjoyed a book this much in quite a long time. I truly had a grea
... moret time reading it, laughing almost nonstop from beginning to end. I absolutely adored Lucas, a nerd after my own heart, whose hilarious inner monologue and vivid imagination had me cackling out loud. His lover Alex was a dream, dedicated to Lucas as only a soul-mate would be. They made a great couple/team, making me wish a prequel was available so I could get their back-story (would so love to read that tale let me tell you). Supporting characters were abound, and each and every one of them made the story all the more hilarious. This truly was a fun read, unique and unforgettable. less
