review 1: This was my second Carole Matthews book, I really enjoyed the story- I connected with Janie from the start but towards the end I lost it a little- as I was waiting for something to go wrong with her and Dominic's relationship. I really enjoyed the Africa chapters, the way it had been written it felt like you were there with them. I liked all the characters but Nina, I felt she was just abit bitchy for a best friend. I really loved Mike- think he was a good friend to Janie and a shame they couldn't get together.Enjoyed reading the book and looking forward to making my way through the other Carole Matthews books.
review 2: Janie in her thirties loves her job as a hairdresser, plenty of time to catch up on gossip with her friend Nina and attend to her regular cli
... moreents in the salon. But things are getting her down, her ex is getting married and she has no love life of her own, after a hilarious episode of a blind date, Janie is swayed by a client's tales of her trip to Africa on Safari and on a whim books the trip. Arriving in Africa Janie find herself besotted with Dominic , her own personal Maasai warrior assigned to look after her on her adventure. Returning home she realises she has fallen for him and while her friends try to point out that he is only after her for her money and a UK passport Janie is determined the relationship will work. Moving Dominic to England starts a tale of fun as he tries to fit into the village and tears as they both wonder can this life work out for them. Add a neighbour, Mike into the mix who only has eyes for Janie and this is the a story I promise you will not be able to put down. This author carries you into the story and doesn't let you go until the end and even at that you can find a short add on to it in her website.I loved this book, full of the sights and wonders of not only tourist Africa but the parts most don't get to see. I was kept on the edge of my seat feeling slightly uncomfortable wondering if Janie's friends were correct in their assumption or does love really conquer over different continents. less
