review 1: This is a fun, easy chick-lit style read. I deliberately picked it out for some light relief and it was far better than I had expected. Rich girl loses everything ends up in a poor area where she meets people who are far kinder and loving to her than her stuck up rich 'friends'. A bit stereotypical but parts of it were hilarious and others poignant - thoroughly enjoyable! I will read Ms Matthews again.
review 2: While the book started off nicely, it floundered half way through. The idea that Lily had an affair with Seymour & she even tried to think that it was "legit" because Laurence had been "ignoring" her (due to his long working hours as a City highflyer before he lost his job) simply left a distaste in my mouth. What was even more ironic was just when ... moreLily and her family was starting to find their way once more, her former friend Amanda suffered the same fate because her husband was made redundant at his company. Riiiiighttt. less
