review 1: Well-written and fun, but there really wasn't anything very unusual about this chick-lit, Southern-Women-Made-of-Steel-and-Magnolias story. The main characters weren't really differentiated enough to have strong personalities, and as often happens in these books, the quirky secondary characters stole the show. It was a pleasant read, though, and the author did a good enough job to keep me until the end. Nice winter by the fire read.
review 2: This book started with some promise to be a fun story with some interesting characters. Unfortunately it grew into a stampede out of control. The characters were flying all over the place with no clear direction, the story was as shallow as a piece of tin foil, and the ending was a real dud. However, I finished it and spen... moret two evenings with something to read. I give it a three but would prefer to give 2.5. less
