review 1: On page 157 Irene " smoothed one carefully mascaraed eyebrow. " I wasn't aware that women use mascara on eyebrows! Who proof reads & check facts these days? And on page 132 David said " I got to talk to you. " And again later on in the book. Thought he was fairly educated. Also way too much information on the clothes each character was wearing.....rather have more of a description on island scenes or historical facts. A disappointing read!
review 2: I have read every book in this series and have always enjoyed them. However, I must admit I am growing tired of the fact that the characters really do not grow and change. Since Annie and Max were married in 1989, they should now be celebrating their 25th anniversary and Emma should be in her late eighties (base
... mored on the average age of WWII vets) yet they are still drawn as being relatively the same as they were in the first stories. Broward's Rock never seems to change despite the high number of murders it sees. I realize that Ms Hart uses the "closed room" style of mysteries but her stories just don't grab me like they used to. less

Thought this was good. These books can drag a bit but ultimately they turn out to be good reading.

Perhaps I am getting too old to read mysteries with this many characters to keep track of.

Standard, reliable mystery: loads of potential killers, lots of red herrings.

Another wonderful installment in the Death on Demand series.
