review 1: This is the first in the Death on Demand series that I have read, and I was not impressed. Although some of the characters are wonderful, I found myself struggling to finish the book. If I didn't want to know who the killer was so badly, I think I would have just stopped at chapter 2. This was a book that just seemed to drag on and on...I most likely will not be reading any more of this series.
review 2: Every now and then I pick up one of the books in Carolyn Hart's Death on Demand series although Max and Annie Darling are not my favorite detectives. I find them just a little bit too perfect, I think. In this book, Annie and Max investigate the death of a young woman who has returned to the island after a ten year absence. Everyone in her high school clas... mores who still lives on the island harbors a secret about the deaths of two other members of the class. I thought that the story was drawn out too long and that Annie was a bit obsessive about a young woman she had just met. The bookstore, Death on Demand, was mentioned a few times, but was not prominent. less
