review 1: My main problem with this one was that there was no true conclusions or answers. The needing was still left very murky and open, which kinda makes you think why the bother of making this a series? Why not have left it at one book? Because by creating a series you expect the story to evolve, not change completely which is what this one does. Nonetheless it was great series which the likes of which I've never read before.
review 2: To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with this book. My main problems with it were twofold. 1.) There was really no action/plot beyond the personal relationships between the characters, and even that wasn't done well. Even the climax of the book was long and boring, which is a shame because I felt like it was the only time any r
... moreeal action happened. Furthermore, all the tensions between the characters seemed to be resolved in one scene or less, making it seem like they weren't serious problems to begin with. 2.) All the characters seemed flat and two-dimensional. Rather than characterizing them through their actions, the author insisted on telling us what they were like and then attempting to explain that. The result was that I didn't fell as if I knew any of the characters very well, even the ones we've met in previous books. Gabry didn't seem like Gabry when seen through Annah's eyes, and while that may have been acceptable or even interesting if it had been done better, it was really just annoying. Even if I didn't necessarily like the characters in the previous two books, at leas I felt like I had an honest idea of what their personalities were. In this book, the only people I really felt that about were the Recruitors: there was no doubt in my mind that they were all completely evil and sadistic. But that was obvious because of their actions, not because the author told me a million times how evil and sadistic they were. less
