The Forest of Hands and Teeth
review 1: It’s a 1 star for now. Yet, it’s really more of a placeholder, because I unfairly came to this story having grown tired of the zombie genre and adolescent angst. The writing is good enough to make me want to pick up other stories by this author. And, this is the second book in a series. I didn’t realize that going in; the title of the copy I picked up did not mention as much, but again, when I get back into this phase, perhaps I will be able to better appreciate the story within.
review 2: I enjoyed this book more than I enjoyed the Forest of Hands and Teeth (which I liked a lot as well). Sure the character is whiny and repetitive in her actions and quandaries (pretty much all about her love triangle), but somehow I enjoyed this book more then the first o
... morene. Maybe because at least she had more of a heart for the people she loved then Mary did in book #1. I also enjoyed the fact that it was less dark then the first book. As much as the love triangle was annoying at times, I always was rooting for Gabry and Elias to get together. For some reason I liked him more for her in the romantic sense then Catcher. So I was happy with the ending with her finally admitting that she loved Elias (it was frustrating how long it took for her to choose though). I can't wait to read the next book! less
