review 1: Though I found this collection of essays to be interesting, I was horribly bored and couldn't wait to be done with it. I am an English major but I hate literary analysis. When I read a book, I want to enjoy the book and not look for what the author intended by making the curtains blue. 9/10 times the author is dead and we can't ask if they made the curtains blue because they were depressed or if they just liked that color. That being said though, this did give me a lot of insight into Clare's books and characters...from the views of others. That is what I liked most, that these were others thoughts and not Clare's.
review 2: Perfect for any avid Shadowhunter fan like me! So informative and packed with references and quotes >3. I CANNOT believe some jerk had the
... more nerve to say that "Clare's writing makes the relationship between Magnus and Alec so beautiful you forget how wrong it is". WTF? All people deserve happiness you jerk! Malec forever! My favourite essay in this was the Art of War. A must have for fellow Shadowhunters! less

I found this series of essays mostly fascinating and thoughtful ... a great companion to the series.

Very interesting and insightful discussions into certain themes of The Mortal Instrument world.

I read the part by Sarah Reese Brennan. That counts as reading, right?
