review 1: I have actually read this entire series, but i'm not about to go through each one individually. What can you really say about vampire fiction? Its easy, everything-is-on-the-surface reading. Sookie is a very likable character. Quinn is a total creep. Eric is the guy women want to reform. Bill...he falls under creepy too. Toward the end of the series the author is reaching for a plot, but once you're invested, you have to know...I mean, what if it gets REALLY good?
review 2: The writing style was so bad and so obnoxious that I couldn't get beyond 1.5 books. The author tries too hard with the cutesy Southern gal thing, or something. I think I scoffed every other page. And frankly, the storyline doesn't do it for me either. When it comes to vampires, I prefer som
... moreething less...teenyboppery. While it appears that this series has a huge following, it just isn't for me. The show is less obnoxious, despite the obvious plot changes. It was too much of an effort trying to read the books. less
