review 1: The story picks right up after Hell & High Water and Dex and Sloane continue to hunt down Isaac. The beginning of the story felt a little slow but soon it picked up and there was suspense and action. But the main focus in this book is Sloane's past and his relationship with Dex. We learn a lot about what happened to Sloane and what made him the man he is now. What he and Ash went through as kids was awful. Dex and Sloane's relationship grows in this book and I just love them together. Dex' ability to adapt and be just what Sloane needs at that very moment is impressive. And he is just sooo funny! This book has a HEA for now. It was a perfect sequel and I can't wait to read the next one!

... moree picking up and son is the heat between Sloane and Dex. 13% in and you'll already be fanning your face! Dex is as adorable and funny as ever, but this story has a more intense, emotional side. I had tears in my eyes through some of it, and not all laughter. Sloane must face his nightmares in order to save his partner, and let go of his pasts and secrets to move forward. I admire him for the choices he makes and we get THEE sweetest ending ever. 'Course' there's still shit hitting the fan, but for our fellas, things are all right in the world, at least for a day. less
