review 1: I generally like for my m/m romances to start with everyone out of the closet or accepting of their sexuality but this one is an exception to the rule. Kade and Tom are sinfully hot together and twice as sweet. Tom really needed the support and encouragement he gets from Kade and Kade is just a perfect Alpha male lead: strong, sexy and sure of himself. I do think the ending is a little abrupt but it's a good story nonetheless.
review 2: Kade was introduced in Loving the Enemy as Nick's best friend and got on Miach's last nerve, but he while he was genuinely happy for his friend to find his mate he was envious. Now it is Kade's turn. Boy does fate have a sense of poor humor. Kade agrees after a little fun arm-twisting from his foster human sister to join her... more as her date replacement at the last minute to double with her friend and her friend's new boyfriend. His sister wants him to come looking intimidating just in case the other guy is not right for her friend and needs to be intimidated. Kade doesn't have to work hard at the intimidating look. He's got Bad Bike Vibe down to a science with his big body, tats and leathers. The joke's on Kade when he slides into the booth and finds himself across from his fated mate who happens to be the friend's date. Kade establishes quickly that the man is actually deeply in the closet, but that's only the first hurdle. Now he has to coax Tom out of the closet and leave his girlfriend. In case things weren't challenging enough the said girlfriend is none other than the frightening Jared the assassin's sister. But hey, every wolf loves a challenging chase to track and trap his prey so Kade's up for it all because this is his mate.Tom on the other hand while strongly attracted to the big biker has his reasons for needing this relationship to work out. His family's outdoor sports store needs a loan to keep afloat and her family has money. But Tom can't make himself forget Kade especially after discovering that Kade is equally attracted to Tom. Tom finally does the right thing and discovers that things have a way of working out- just differently than he imagined. All should be smooth sailing until Tom is given a startling introduction into the shifter world and learns the truth about Kade even while he's placed in a dangerous situation that leaves Kade's heart in his throat.I just love Charlie Richards' characters, but I do believe that Kade will remain a favorite. For a big fearsome looking guy, he is so playful and flirtatious even when on a mission to seduce his mate. He has so much stacked against him, but he's a wily one.Then there was the vicarious enjoyment I had along with Tom discovering that Kade not only had some wonderful Celtic art coloring his body, but some piercings to drive poor Tom wild. Tom asks how that worked when Kade shifted to his wolf. Now wouldn't you like to know? *waggles eyebrows*Fun installment that include those moments of danger near the end. less
