review 1: Allow me to start my review by saying that I read a profound amount of books and have come across hundreds of authors and novels. Chris Carter is one of the most exceptional writers I have ever come across, ranking in amongst my most favourable authors inc; Lionel Shriver, Brett Easton Ellis and Dennis Lehane. His writing style can be seen to be quite similar to Michael Connolly's 'Harry Bosch' series and James Patterson's 'Alex Cross' series BUT something that Chris Carter has that Connolly and Patterson (I personally feel) lack in is the skill to interrupt vivid imagery into words. Carter has a phenomenal way of grabbing the attention and drawing in the reader with his high attention detail. My favourite thing about Chis Carters 'Robert Hunter' series is that the main ch... morearacter is not only a Detective but also a Psychologist, giving readers an insight into how the mind of psychopaths and criminals not only operate, but how they think, something that I have always been interested in. The Executioner was an amazing book; I finished it in only a matter of days because I couldn't bring myself to put it down. Although I have read and appreciate novels with a lot more gore and sadism; The Executioner would have to be one of my favourite books of all time, Chris Carter is an amazing writer, it has been honourable for me to be apart of Chris Carters progression and I look forward to reading anything else he publishes.
review 2: If you even think that you can expect the ending of any book, then I highly suggest you read this because it haunting mesmerizing ironic book that CAN NOT BE PREDICTED. It has to be read and if there is any Detective Conan readers out there looking for a book to read then again I highly suggest this. After few spectacular days of reading this Detective Hunter will be one of the character that are memorialised in your memory because of how perfect and paradox he is.
