review 1: This time the story started out a bit slower but it was still a page turner with some interesting twists. Eleanor's business is threatened when a new pizza place opens a few doors down. The new owner of the pizzeria has a public run in with Eleanor and then turns up murdered. While most of the town believe Eleanor is innocent there is enough "smoke" to establish a "fire" which means that Eleanor and Maddy become involved in yet another murder investigation.
review 2: Reading these books makes me wish there really was a restaurant called A Slice of Delight. Eleanor is dismayed to find out another pizzeria, Italia, is opening within mere yards of A Slice of Delight. After a confrontation with the new owner, Judson Sizemore, Eleanor and her sister, Maddy, find the... moremselves once again in the middle of a murder. The Chief, Kevin Hurley, investigates with Eleanor and Maddy's help! When Maddy's beau, Bob Lemon, tells them the financing for the new restaurant comes from Nathan Sizemore, the town eccentric, they decide to meet with him. Judson was Nathan's nephew and his sister, Gina, Nathan's niece, whom they soon have in their sights as their prime suspect. But they soon build a list of suspects to include Judson's sister, Gina, his ex-girlfriend, Lily, and the mysterious Jack. With the help of Greg and Josh, who both work at the Slice, a die hard customer, Karen, Maddy's beau, Bob Lemon, Eleanor's former beau, David Quinton, and questionable loan shark, Art Young, the clues begin to pile up as they eliminate suspects. When Eleanor finds out Nathan has paid of Gina's debt and he is planning to change his will, she realizes too late the clues she missed that point her straight to the killer.
