review 1: Mysteries are light summer reading to me. I don't expect much more than to be entertained. This book somewhat accomplished it, but certain problems nagged at me. In one conversation, a character mentions, "batting your eyebrows" when speaking of flirting. Ummm, how does one bat their eyebrows? Do you swat at them? Of course it should have read, "bat your eyelashes". Also, it seems that the lead character, Eleanor has way more chemistry with the married police chief Kevin, than she does with the man who tries to date her. David comes off as a creepy and determined stalker, trying to brow beat Eleanor into dating him. It's an alright mystery. It's enjoyable, just not as well written or perhaps edited as I would like.
review 2: Aside from the implausible police de
... moretective work that allowed Eleanor to become the prime suspect, this was an fairly amusing story with cozy characters. Would have like some more storytelling about the town and its inhabitants but if there are more in the series perhaps that will come. Main character and her sister made a nice duo. Sometimes I could even smell the pizza cooking. Decent mystery as well. less
