review 1: I first read this story in The Shadows of Christmas Past (Christmas Series, #3) (Primes #2.5) and I rated it a 3 *, after a re-read I still haven't changed my mind about this book. The story was enjoyable and it certainly does capture your attention. All the characters in the book are enjoyable, but it does feel as if something was missing in the story. I would have liked a little bit more suspense to this story involving the activities with Fred and more drama and maybe more secondary characters. I know they where isolated due to the storm and the location of the farm but we didn't get to "meet"Al or his wife or any of the ranch hands. A little more substance to this story and it would have rated higher.Other than this , this was a good, easy, enjoyable ... morebook.
review 2: Thanks netgalley for a free book to read and review. Christmas is my favorite time of year, and this is the time of year that makes miracles more likely to happen. Cole and Jase had to live years without the beauty of Christmas because their father taught them that only bad things happen when they care. Abuse is never an easy thing to work through and hate is not easy to let go. When Maia is introduced to them something slowly started to melt around their hearts, and Christmas is a good time of year to make them whole again. Amazing story, I enjoyed it a lot. Overall entertainment is four stars. less
