review 1: I liked the story quite a bit although for some reason it took me a long while to read. I really liked all the characters and although the end was predictable or at least predicted getting to it was a great ride. As much as I loved the two lead characters I found that I often times wished the story was more centered around Remy or Elijah. I think those two have my heart and would love to read about them. The story had great suspense, drama and action and the writing and visualization was done only like Christine Feehan can do.
review 2: Christine Feehan weaves a great story where people are surrounded by swamps, alligators, snakes, weird flowers and people who change into Leopards. Saria was the youngest in the family and her mother died when she was
... moreyoung. Her father, when sober, taught her how to live in the bayou. How to fish, hunt alligators, find her way in the swamps, but most of all how to survive. She never felt like part of the family always on the outside. She took care of her father, ran the bar and when people tried to tell her what to do she would disappear into the swamp. But this time the swamp scares her as someone or something is killing people. She sends a letter to Jake, owner of Fenton's Marsh, to ask for help. Read the book to find out what form that help takes and exactly what kind of help she gets. less
