review 1: Water Bound is the first book in the Sisters of the Heart series from Christine Feehan. Sisters of the Heart is joined by The Drake Sister series to form the Sea Haven collection. I would suggest that you read the Drake Sister series before reading Sisters of the Heart, although it isn’t completely necessary to enjoy Water Bound. The protagonists in Water Bound are Lev Prakenskii and Rikki. If you read the Drake Sister series you should recognize both the town’s name of Sea Haven, and the Prakenskii name. We meet Rikki first and learn that she has a strange affinity for water and is somehow able to call it to her. She lives on a farm with six other women and they call themselves sisters of the heart. Each one has suffered a trauma and they’ve taken refuge with one an... moreother in Sea Haven. Rikki boats out into the ocean to hurt sea urchins where she feels most comfortable. While preparing to pull in some nets, she’s struck by a wave throwing her overboard. While under, she sees Lev and pulls him out. She quickly discovers that he is extremely dangerous, but he fails to remember key things from his life. I think my favorite character in this book was Lev. It started with him not knowing much about his life. The more he remembered the more he disliked the man he used to be. He feels that he has gotten a second chance and instead of falling back to his old ways, he grabs onto his new life by the reins. I do like the way that this book ended, though in future books I hope we get to see more reactions from the Drake sisters. I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys romance and paranormal romance.
review 2: ว่างเว้นจากการอ่านนิยายของเธอไปนาน กลับมาอ่านอีกรอบ เพราะเป็นซีรี่ส์ใหม่ ได้ดาวเยอะด้วย ก็ลองดูค่ะ ชอบแฮะ มันเหมือนย้อนกลับไปสมัยเริ่มอ่านโรมานซ์ค่ะ เพราะเป็นนิยายรักแท้ๆ ที่ไม่มีฉากบู๊ต่อสู้หรือพล็อตเกี่ยวกับอย่างอื่นมากมายจนบดบังความรักของพระนางไปหมด โทนเรื่องออกหวานและดึงดูดใจ นางเอกเรื่องนี้เป็นออทิสติก และมีความพิเศษคือควบคุมธาตุน้ำได้ (เป็นพารานอร์มอลนะ) พระเอกก็มีพลังจิตเหมือนกัน ตัวละครเชื่อมกับซีรี่ส์เดรคนิดๆ แต่เราไม่ได้อ่านชุดนั้นนะคะ เว้นๆ ของฟีฮานไปนานเหมือนกันเพราะอ่านชุดโกสวอร์เกอร์แล้วรู้สึกบู๊กันมากไปนิด ดาร์คไปหน่อยสำหรับเรา ชุดคาร์พาเธียนก็ต้องอ่านแบบปีละเล่มอะไรประมาณนี้ถึงจะโอเค อ่านติดๆ กันแล้วรู้สึกมันคล้ายกันไปหน่อย แต่ก็นะ เป็นความคงที่ของนักเขียนที่เราเชื่อฝีมือได้ว่า ถ้าหยิบชุดนั้นมาแล้วจะได้เจอกับอะไร 555 นานๆ ทีก็กลับมาอ่านทีนึง กลับมาหยิบเล่มนี้แล้วไม่ผิดหวังค่ะ ดึงดูดเราให้อ่านได้อย่างเพลิดเพลิน แม้บางทีจะบรรยายซ้ำบ้างเล็กน้อยก็หยวนๆ นะ พระเอกน่ารักทุ่มเท มีเธอเป็นคู่แท้คนเดียว สังเกต เอาใจ เข้าใจทุกอย่าง แบบความฝันของผู้หญิงที่จะเจอพระเอกในนิยายอะไรแบบนี้ นางเอกไม่เพอร์เฟคอย่างมาก มีข้อด้อยหลายประการ จุดที่ชอบอีกอย่างคือนักเขียนมือเก่าเค้าข้อมูลแน่นค่ะ เราได้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับชีวิตอาชีพของนางเอกได้จริงๆ เลย นางเอกออกเรือไปดำน้ำเก็บหอยเม่น ได้เห็นวิธีการทุกประการอย่างชัดเจน เห็นแม้กระทั่งภาพใต้น้ำ แนวปะการัง สัตว์ต่างๆ บรรยายได้ดีมาก ชอบฉากที่เจอกับพระเอกใต้น้ำที่สุด เธอช่วยชีวิตเขาขึ้นมา แรกๆ เขาก็ยังมึนๆ ทำท่าจะร้ายๆ กับนางเอกตามนิสัยระแวดระวังไม่ไว้ใจใครที่ถูกฝึกมา ตอนแรกยังไม่ได้ประทับใจพระเอก แต่ยิ่งอ่านไปยิ่งชอบมากขึ้น ส่วนนางเอกตอนแรกรู้สึกว่าเธอเกือบเหมือนคนปกติมีข้อด้อยนิดหน่อย ตอนหลังๆ รู้สึกว่าเธอมีข้อจำกัดมากขึ้นหลายอย่าง สลับกับพระเอกนะ ตัวละครรองเหมือนมาจากชุดเก่าเยอะพอควร และก็มีแต่คนน่ารัก เพราะคงจะเป็นพระเอกนางเอกชุดก่อนๆ มา ก็เลยอ่านแล้วสบายใจดี ตัวร้ายก็ บ้าดีอะ แต่บทไม่เยอะ(ถูกใจเรา) เน้นฉากหวานระหว่างพระเอกนางเอกซะมากกว่า less

I stumbled into this randomly and enjoyed it so much that I had to work my way backwards through ALL the Drake sisters. This was actually my favorite story line so far. I very much enjoy the way Feehan has woven together the characters throughout and mingled the Drake's in to continue providing little glimpses into their lives while starting a whole new line of strong women to become attached to. Can't wait for more of the Sisters of the Heart to be complete as I have really enjoyed getting a glimpse of these new and interesting characters!

Another superb novel by Feehan, although this novel has reminded me that I still have a couple of Drake novels to read. I'd alread read the second instalment of the Sisters of Heart series and I have to say that I prefered Rikki's character and story (but Judith's was also enjoyable). The suspense was good and kept the novel moving. It had some moments of predictability, but that didn't hinder the experience of this novel. A definite read for those who want to stay in Sea Haven just a little longer.
