review 1: I started this book and then had to stop because I got a third of the way through it and nothing had happened. Okay, so it’s obvious that someone had organised for Team 3 to end up at the heroine’s house, to the surprise of the heroine and the team, after she’s disappeared two years earlier, walking away from a relationship with the hero, leader of team 3. Okay, well, that was promising, but that happened in the first pages and a third of the way through, nothing else had happened except page after page after page of internal dialogue of the heroine going I love him, I’ve always loved him, he doesn’t love me, he put his job in front of me (because you know like normal people actually do have to work to survive) so I had to leave and I still love him and he makes... more me hot, and – okay, okay, okay - and the hero going she left me, how could she, I want to fuck her, she makes me hot, I want to fuck her, how could she leave me – okay, okay, okay. Yeah, had to walk away. I’ll come back to it later and maybe things will get better, like the story might start, or maybe there’ll be more of the same with maybe a bit of sex thrown in. I’m not in the mood to read this.
review 2: First off I have to say that the characters and team development I would have given a 5 star for. However the writing seem to stutter step near the end. The transitions from one scene to another seem to be lacking, as if the author was rushed to get the book out the door and just needed to get words to paper. OR the editors were rushed and did a poor job slashing and chopping the story that was written. Either way I had to give it a lower rating because I became frustrated while reading one of my favorite authors and series.Another piece of advice however for Feehan, tie things up and move them along. Please give us some assurance there will be some EPIC ending we can count on. While I love reading about these individual characters, I also love the overall plot and theme. The arcs matter! I will lose interest if I start getting the feeling that this is heading the direction of the Carpathians. If I want to invest in just the romance, knowing what I know now, I'll keep reading those. However I really want to know what's going to happen with these teams. You have built a world and I for one want, need, crave to know that this will be packaged at some point. I don't have to know it will be done in 2 books or 3 but as a dedicated reader of your books, I think I deserve to know that this world you have created has a plan and not just a collection of individual stories. I love sneeking peeks at older characters. I want to get to know if some of the characters I know and love have baby girls or boys. I want to know if they are able to exist on the compound. I want to know if they can actually trust again. What I don't want...is a constant barrage of new characters without tie backs and furthering the arcs.Just my 2 cents.... less
