review 1: Fascinating group of essays on the nature of villainy and whether it's possible for us to be anything other than the hero in our own story. He has some very interesting thoughts about Ali, D.B. Cooper, Hitler, David Bowie and many others that had never even crossed my mind. Sometimes it's a little far up its own ass, but this type of self examination has to be at certain points. A very entertaining read.
review 2: As much as I want to complain about Klosterman's really strong voice, it really is an enjoyable read. Prior to reading this, I had no idea who he was, so his opinion meant very little to me. Due to that, some parts were hard to get through (like when he decided to ramble on about the bands he used to hate, and why), but at the end of the day, I think
... moreit's really the only way the book would have worked. Ultimately, it's an interesting and fun analysis of "villains" in the quasi-modern world. less

A great read by one of the smartest writers. The Clinton and NWA and OJ chapters were my favorite.
