review 1: This book took me a really long time to get through! While I liked it well enough, it wasn't good enough for a 4 or 5 star rating. This story was engaging in the mystery aspect of it, but it seemed as though everything was dragged out to make it longer. Both the hero and heroine are characters that we had met before, but Liam's reluctance to love Wink got very old, very quickly. I really enjoyed seeing how strong of a heroine Wink was and how she didn't let the men around her do her thinking for her. The end battle was quite enjoyable, but wasn't enough to redeem the book from a three star rating.
review 2: I found this to be an enjoyable read. It definitely fits Ms. Pape's tried and true mystery+romance methodology. I think I owe my Grandma an apology for
... more making fun of her Nora Roberts addiction and then developing my own romance/mystery obsession. I probably should've issued that apology years ago when I started compulsively reading Janet Evanovich novels, but I didn't realize until recently that I'd inherited the affliction. Is this a genetics thing or a gender thing? I don't know but I can't imagine too many men read this series and I feel pretty sure plenty of women do... less

Fun little series. I enjoyed them all and hope there will be yet another.

Quite possibly my favorite of the Gaslight Chronicles so far.
