review 1: An okay novella that would have been a good novel: the characters were likable, the author writes engaging prose, but this just didn't have room to do anything but hurry. A longer book would have given the suspense plot a chance to deepen and possibly twist a few times, and it would have given the romance enough time to develop plausibly. 24 hours from introduction to HEA is just too much for my suspension of disbelief.
review 2: This was a pretty good book. I enjoyed reading this and would read it again. I liked the characters and the steampunk/paranormal aspects. I liked the personalities and mystery. I didn't anticipate much in this (a freebie) and was pleasantly surprised. This is great for a short getaway to another time and some steamy mystery reading.
